Closed-Loop Therapies: Development, Successes, Challenges

In research, the closed-loop approach is regarded as a promising method for achieving further progress in neurotherapy. CorTec launches a series of articles presenting the research and development of therapies based on closed loop, previous successes as well as upcoming challenges.

Closed loop means an adaptation of the therapeutic stimulation to the acute treatment needs of the patient. According to recent research results, existing neurotherapies, for example for Parkinson’s disease, can benefit from an adaptive treatment approach just as much as new therapies can become possible.
